Guest: Ex-scientologist Tory Christman who, after 30 years, reached the second highest-level of the famous secretive cult.
A related show on Rev. Sun Myung Moon: Republican Messiah
Thanks to the many "anons" and the one particular one in Kentucky who recommened Tory.
Great to see this is finally getting some major attention.
Thanks Mr. Levine, for finally taking this on the air.

Posted by: AusAnon at April 3, 2008 10:55 AMThank you Mr. Levine! Ms. "Magoo" Christman is a wonderful human being with an equally wonderful message to spread. I appreciate the time you're taking to speak with her, and I will be sure to watch this interview!
Posted by: Anonymous at April 3, 2008 12:32 PMGo ToryMagoo, go!
And thank you, Mr. Levine, for taking the time to speak with her. I too will be listening.
Suggestions for the discussion:
1) COS is a con game, perpetrated as a cult, wrapped as a religion. Its sole purpose to siphon money from its members. Discuss both a) internal structure as run by COB Miscavige b) external structure regarding its many front groups
2) Point out historical and ongoing corruption and human rights abusives which should a) void its tax exemption b) be subject to a federal investigation by US Congress
3) Give real examples of immoral policies such as Disconnection ie Jenny Miscavige, RPF ie Pat Harney's Husband, Fair Game ie Shawn and others.
4) Point out its campaign to "obliterate" the field of psychology.*Play audio from COB Miscavige speech*. Discuss history of this a) as revenge from initial reviews of Dianetics as "pseudoscience" b) to CCHR front group running a "Industry of death" exhibition
5) Discuss how COS practices its own form of medicine without a license via Narconon a) explain the purification rundown using 10g of Niacin, 5-6hours in a sauna b) dealing with psychotic breaks using Introspection rundown such as Lisa Mcpherson and recently Martine Boublil
Nice going, Mark! I'd love to hear your take on this.
Might I suggest discussion of front group CCHR, a Scientology front group, illegally backing a candidate and blatantly hijacking the horrors of The Holocaust for their own grossly misinformed anti-Psychiatry agenda...
Also, "Operation Snow White", the documented case in which Scientologists infiltrated Gov't buildings and stole info.
Lastly, I'd like to hear what you think about Scientology's super secret tax agreement with the IRS.
Posted by: Anonymous at April 3, 2008 4:39 PMA lot of my friends say that anyone stupid enough to stay in the cult of Scientology doesn't deserve our sympathy or concern. I'd like Ms.Christman to tell us what it feels like when a person begins to ponder leaving. I'm hoping that my friends who will be listening with me will come to understand how terrifying it is to leave a powerful cult.

Posted by: Count Scary at April 4, 2008 9:55 AMMark,
Be sure to check your mail box for rattle snakes. I was living in the LA area back in the 70s when a reporter wrote an article critical of scientology. You guessed it, she found a rattler in her mail box a few days later. These days they are smoother but just as effective. They will sue you to death. There was a cult-watch nonprofit organization that was taken over by scientology after endless and meritless lawsuits. I wonder how the creators of the South Park comedy show are doing lawsuit-wise. They recently did an episode on South Park that still makes me laugh my head off.
Posted by: Skip at April 5, 2008 3:42 AMOf course L. Ron Hubbard is reported to have said during a science fiction writer's conference that (I'm paraphrasing) the way to make some serious money is to start a religion.
Posted by: Skip at April 5, 2008 3:47 AMWhen you think about it--science fiction and religion are very similat regimes of thought
