When I. Lewis (Scooter) Libby "Inmate #28301-016"
was convicted. I felt finally, someone in high places are being held responsible for their actions and crimes.

You know, like the shmuck that gets pulled over by a cop and is given a ticket that includes a fine. Which raises his auto insurance for going 10 mph over the speed limit. (it happens)

Then there is the chap that is busted with too much pot in his posession and is put in jail for 1 or more years. Losses his job, everything he owns, gets istitutionally exposed to criminals and criminal ways. Basically losses everything.

Then the Scotter's of the world. The Enron masters. We all think, OK, the President excused Libby the horrors of paying for his crime. But, Scooter will get his. Right?

Tel me you never thought of that over people as these examples arouse in your minds past and present?

But do they really get theirs? And if they did and we didn't know of it, it isn't tangible and means nothing, right?

Maybe some do get theirs eventually, somehow, someway. I'm not talking revenge or anything. It is this fuzzy thing called Justice and level handed justice with extinuating circumstances that are not good ole boy (croony) CYA, or cover their Arses.

How do Americans obey everyday laws and refuse the same if not higher regard for the law from their elected officails?
Someone want to put some batteries in my flashlight for me?

Karmic dispensation is the only true justice--and sometimes so disguised--no one knows it is happening

Posted by: Harry Cane at May 30, 2008 9:45 AM

"How true"
again, if you are not aware that this Karmic Dispensation occured and to whom, how, why and when. Did it occur in the reality of whometh justice is deserved?

Posted by: cosm-etic outer space at May 31, 2008 1:39 AM

Spacey--when the disguise dissolves--then justice is served

Posted by: Smoke Screen at May 31, 2008 9:55 AM

Yet where is the Just deserves?

Did Americans actually have Justice served over Nixon?

Did Nixon do hard time in San Clemente and was that hard time tougher than someone convicted of marajuana possesion? How many days in the tank did Nixon serve? Oliver North for selling weapons to our enemies? Ollie's paycheck from appearing on FOX News and spewing spin is hardly the satisfying penalty from the Justice system I expect.
Is it fulfilling to you to see these criminals rewarded in lavish upward punishmented justice?

Conscience--it sounds like you're doin' hard time with yourself (The just deserves are in the strawberry preserves)

Well Obama is the official presumptive nominee forthe democratic party.

It is tough to recall a Dem primary going this long and hard fought.

Although I think Hillary would bring some some strength to the ticket and she would be a very good VP. Would it hamper Obama's agenda and message?

Think Hillary could be a Obama presidency player in his corner?

No matter what you may think of Hillary. She won enough campaign support for first consideration from Obama.

Would the VP to Hillary heal and unite the two camps avid supporters for the general?

Posted by: Robt at June 4, 2008 3:58 AM

Mark,
Could you please explain how one lower level Dept of Justice worker as John Yoo can have the ability and authority to write a legal law memo that allows torture and legaly binds a President to such law?

When the DOJ is not the legislative branch and Yoo wasn’t elected to make those laws. How does he write a law on his own that the entire United States has to adhere? One little DOJ atty becomes the unitary legislative branch?

Also,
If Obama becomes President and it comes time to appoint supreme Court Justices. When it comes to the S.C. Chief Justice. Who is John Roberts at the moment.

Can each President name who is chief justice?

Or is Roberts who was named with the chief Justice position was vacant stay put?

In other words, could our next President that appoints a Supreme for say replacing Justice Stevens. Name that replacement to Chief Justice?
Are we stuck with Roberts as Cheif Justice? and is there any circumstances (short of him stepping down or impeached) that could place another justice in Roberts' cheif justice positiion?

Tim Russert was one of the good guys

Posted by: U never know at June 14, 2008 9:50 AM

After the SCOTUS announced its 5-4 decision over Habeas corpus.

It only makes me wonder if the President will announce he is placing a signing statement to a Supreme Court decision that he doesn't have to obey it...............

He does signing statments to laws of congress why not this.

McCain's war went into overtime--one thinks he would've learned it's jiu-jitsu lessons--but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!--he says he hates war--but will prolong it--for a fear of defeat he calls honor--hasn't he learned--it is victory for all--when war is over?

Theocracy ?

Where's Skip and Robt's objections to all of Obama's talk about theocracy?

Posted by: Vicky at June 22, 2008 10:00 AM

Obama Theocracy -

Regarding Obama’s powers of attraction, I recall the rash of people fainting at Obama’s rallies.

I also recall the words of a MSNBC broadcaster:

“I felt this thrill going up my leg.” MSNBC’s Chris Matthews after listening to an Obama speech.

Mathews also said of Obama’s campaign: “This is bigger than Kennedy. This is the New Testament.”

Posted by: Vicky at June 23, 2008 3:49 AM

Obama theocracy watch -

Obama was reaching out to young evangelicals way back on October 7, 2007, when he addressed a church in South Carolina, saying: “Sometimes this is a difficult road being in politics… Sometimes you can seek power just for power’s sake instead of because you want to do service to God. I just want all of you to pray that I can be an instrument of God… I am confident that we can create a Kingdom right here on Earth.”

If a Republican said that, he would be branded forever as a “theocrat!”

OBAMA THEOCRACY WATCH -

A post from a fellow blogger at another site - credit to "Xion"...

Obama states clearly here, that he wants to replace the conservative monopoly on religious speech with his own liberal version. He redefines separation of church and state to mean replacing the intolerant voices of Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson with the language of social change. Religion, he explains, is government doing God’s work.

What is funny about this is that if liberals were skittish about religious language before, they should fasten their seat belts, because everything Obama says is couched in religious terms.

There is no distinction in his mind between a City of God and City of Man. He doesn’t hide the face that he will impose heaven on earth by becoming the most powerful man on the planet … if you will only BELIEVE!

Posted by: Vicky at June 23, 2008 3:58 AM

Vicky,

There is nothing "skittish" that I know of that appreciates the separation of Church and State. If you have something, lay it out and lets discuss it?

I have not moved from my position on thwarting theocracy. I remain steadfast. If you think otherwise, let's hear it ?

By the way, Does Obama's religion trouble you personally in some manner ?

Posted by: Robt at June 23, 2008 9:20 PM

Yeah Robt he has a "messiah" complex and he is using it to feed the masses. And they're being duped.

Posted by: Vicky at June 24, 2008 1:43 AM

After 7 years of being anally-reamed by the Bush boys--maybe being duped by Obama won't feel so bad

Posted by: L:ist of pros and cons at June 24, 2008 10:46 AM

Vicky,
It is odd coming from you that Obama having a "messiah" complex is a bad thing?

I figured this would elate you and your faith?

Your negative expression over Obama's religion as a Christian seems unwarranted, don't you think?

Unless it is a political partisan issue that you feel only republicans are the sole proprietor of religion and faith.

I am still not sure what your getting at? I would think that another politician that espouses religion was right up your political alley and in tune with your voting preference.

I mean didn't you always desire and support religious political leaders. Or is it more cliquish than the teachings of Christ?

Does McCain thrill and fill your evangelical heart? Is it that only republicans in your view can be religiously alert.

Can you describe the Messiah complex you percieve and accuse ?

Posted by: Robt at June 24, 2008 12:26 PM

No obviously you've learned nothing about my "faith" and my feelings on theocracy.

McCain thrill me? LOL. Hardly.

Never mind Robt - and no personal offense meant. Truly.

Poltics isn't a big priority with me right now - I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents and that's about all it's worth.

Peace.

Posted by: Vicky at June 24, 2008 7:12 PM

Vicky,

It must of been the exchange between Dobson and Obama what caused you to ante up 2 cents?

Is Obama duping? read here; http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/06/24/obama-dobson-making-stuff_n_109032.html

Your 2 cents worth is duly noted.

Come on back when you have more money, be well and No offense taken.

Posted by: Robt at June 25, 2008 1:36 AM

Everybody has faith in something--even the agnostic--who has faith in nothing

Vicky, in one day, your two cents worth has devalued to 8 mils

Posted by: Phouc Yu McLizard at June 25, 2008 10:39 AM

Phouc Yu McLizard,

Take it easy there Mr. Mclizard. Or can I call you Phouc.

Vicky had 2 cents to spend in this capitalistic democracy free market of ideas.

Matter of fact she only spent one cent. Because I never got her to explain. And I really did care to know.

Guess it was sort of "hit and run". Did anyone get that license plate number ?

Posted by: Robt at June 26, 2008 12:45 AM

Robt.--don't blame me for the economy

Posted by: Phouc McLizard at June 26, 2008 9:57 AM

Mclizard,
If not you than WHO ?

And if not, what can I blame you for ?

Posted by: Robt at June 26, 2008 11:59 AM

Look not to blame--but to forgive

Posted by: McLizard at June 27, 2008 9:06 AM

So look, forgive me for blaming?

Posted by: McWeedhopper at June 28, 2008 1:22 AM

My appologies again, for I have these Human traits of frailty that is beyond my control.

Even Hoppers of all thicket yearn to know what the acceptance is.

If you still feel " just " that way of acceptance, you speak of;

Please feel free to pull out one of your blank checks, "just" sign it. "Just" gift it to any passer by in need.

Ensuring forgivenss and acceptance is tangible.

The truth is tangible in the wind--and the sage is flexible with it

Posted by: The Sage at June 30, 2008 9:44 AM

Truth exists without wind.

It exists in the dark corners of ones own mind as well as the vocal chords each reverberated tones of acknowledged communication in the light of day.
